Senate Page Day One: Meeting My Host and Roommate!
As written on May 25th, 2015 in Raleigh, North Carolina!
"Since today is Memorial Day, we did not work today. The main benefit from this is that we get to wake up an hour later. YES! I was the first of the two pages to arrive at the host's home. Macy, the other page came not long after. When talking to Macy, I found out that she is from Beaufort County, and get this ---- she knows about NERSBA. More specifically, she knows a student from my school, who is her cousin.
Mrs. McLeod, who is out host for this week, was having a dinner with some friends and family. Two of them in particular, Gentry (a retired police officer) and Joe were cracking me up the whole time! It did not take me long to make myself comfortable. If anything --- I felt right at home. after almost two hours of great conversation, Macy and I decided to turn in for work the next morning."
Hope you guys enjoyed that little piece. The first day was pretty fun. Another plus from this day is that she cooked GREAT food! Day Two is next so cbe sure to check it out!
