86,400...💖
Making comparisons between $86,400 and 86,400 seconds. What is the similarity?
How does one person spend $86,400… by themselves? Of course, if a person is very stingy with money, they can keep it for themselves. However, this is not the case! The money must be spent, and whatever is not spent is not for keeps. Personally, I would like to buy toys, clothes, food and other necessities to help less fortunate people – whether it be in Africa or here in the United States. I would also spend the money by helping my family with expenses, or maybe spend some on myself, if there is any left over. Overall, the way my money would be spent is how I see fit, and what is most important to me at the moment.
I remember reading a quote that stated, “Charity – to some a duty, and to some a joy.” I feel that anyone has the ability to be a humanitarian. As I stated earlier, I would buy toys, clothes, food and other necessities to ensure the happiness and well-being of those less fortunate than me. Also, charity is a worldwide affair, so you get witness the different cultures and ways of life! Although, it is not the money paid that is the benefit; the benefit is the excitement and smiles on the faces of young children (and even adults!) when they are given things that they cannot afford to have themselves. On another note, I may also spend the money on myself and my family’s necessities, because there are daily expenses that need to be paid, and on a personal note – I want to be a provider and care for my family as they have done for me throughout my childhood.
“Time is precious.” 86,400 seconds is PRECIOUS. What would I do in 86,400 seconds? Would I waste on senseless arguments? Or would I be out trying to make the world a better place? The latter is definitely the one I will live by. In this world today, you see a chain reaction of tragedies and bloodshed over senseless acts of violence. My idol Michael Jackson once said “If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself a make a change.” This is how I intend on spending my 86,400 seconds – by giving love and bettering myself as an individual. I definitely do not want to be one of indifference. I want to be able to look at myself honestly and say, “Am I all that I can be? Am I all that I want to be?” I want to be comfortable in my own skin, and for other to see me in a positive light.
Another way I want to spend my 86,400 seconds – love! Showing love to anyone, regardless of color, race, gender, sexuality, religious preferences, politics or any entity, is the best thing that any individual can give to others. Why should I waste a good amount of my seconds showing disdain for someone when I can just show simple compassion. I believe that love and compassion can go a long way; and the world is in need much more need of love than ever before. So, how would I spend my 86,400 seconds? Being human. Understanding that I am not perfect, and knowing that there is always room for improvement. Not succumbing to pressures of an ever-tempting society, and being as indulgent and caring towards people as possible. And overall, be the very best person that I can be! On a final quote, “If you enter this world knowing that you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with."
So, how will you spend your 86,400 seconds? Would you spend it on negativity? Or will you spend it on positivity? Helping with making the world a better place, and showing compassion towards one another. Of course, there are going to be some temptations. There are goibg to vee sone struggles. But, if you know that there is love in your heart, then you will be fine. Just like I will be fine. Luke when I say I am an aesthete. I'm not saying just to be saying it. I'm saying this , because I have a deep appreciation for art and nature. 86,400 seconds. Your time is ticking. MY tine is ticking. Let's use it wisely.
